About the Role:
A leading educational institution in Melbourne is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. This role involves developing and delivering tailored educational programs that foster inclusion, growth, and success for every student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and assess individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ specific needs.
- Collaborate with parents, therapists, and support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Deliver specialised instruction for students with physical, intellectual, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
- Monitor student progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain detailed student records and prepare reports for parent-teacher meetings and education authorities.
- Uphold health and safety standards within classrooms and support inclusive policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education with specialisation in Special Education or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) or relevant authority.
- Experience working with students with special needs in a school or educational setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet varied learning needs.
Salary & Benefits:
- Competitive salary ranging from AUD 80,000 to 130,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.
