About the Role:
A prominent construction company in Melbourne is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their project management team. The role involves managing all aspects of cost planning, procurement, and contract administration for a variety of construction projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for construction projects.
- Manage tender processes, procurement, and supplier negotiations.
- Carry out contract administration, including evaluating variations and claims.
- Monitor project costs and cash flow forecasts to ensure financial control throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to provide cost advice and support decision making.
- Prepare regular reports and assist in risk management and value engineering.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in commercial or residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management systems.
- Proficiency in industry software such as CostX, Buildsoft, Procore, or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
